The international ISHS Plum Apricot 2024 will be organised in Avignon, France, from 22 to 26 April 2024 in the prestigious Palais de Papes (Palace of the Popes). Capital of Christendom in the  Middle Ages, Avignon is touristic and  historical city, in the heart of french Provence region. HOW TO REACH AVIGNON

By train:

Direct high-speed trains (TGV) connects Avignon to Paris (2h40), Lyon (1h00), Charles de Gaulle airport, Lille, Nantes, Rouen, Metz, Marseille, Montpellier, Genève, Bruxelles, Marne la Vallée, Rennes, Toulouse, Strasbourg.
Local trains connect the 'Avignon TGV' train station to the city center (stops 'Avignon Centre'), in 5 minutes.

By plane:

The closest airport is Marseille-Provence,  which offers a large panel of national and international destinations, including low-cost flights towards Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Portugal and other european countries. A free shuttle bus from Marseille Provence Airport can take you to the Vitrolles station to take the train to Avignon Centre, several times a day. The train fare is around 20 €. In alternative, shuttle buses are available up to every 15mn (from 4:30am to 11:30pm) to reach Marseille train station in 25 mns ('gare SNCF'). You can then reach Avignon by  high speed or regional trains.

It is also possible to arrive at Montpellier Mediterranée Airport. Montpellier Mediterranean Airport is at the edge of the A9 motorway network (Exit 29, Montpellier Est). It is also possible to reach the downtown train station in 15mns by public transportation, to take the high speed train (TGV) to Avignon.

By car:

  • Autoroute A7 - Exit Avignon Sud  #24 (from Marseille, Nice, Italy). Please see google map
  • Autoroute A9 - Exit Remoulins (from Nîmes, Montpellier, Toulouse or Spain) ; Follow direction "Avignon Centre" (Avignon Downtown). Please see google map

To join the Pope's Palace from the TGV train station

  • Take the train shuttle from the TGV train station (AVIGNON TGV) to the Down Town train station (AVIGNON CENTRE) (4 to 6 minute trip, 2.10€ ) There is a TER train all 30 minutes.

  • Walk 10 minutes in the Avenue de la République in front of the Down Town train station until the Popes’ Palace.
